Ben Lightwood, twin brother of Alec Lightwood, has been missing for over a month. When Jace finally finds him in the clutches of Valentine's men, chained, tortured and beaten half to death, he can't believe what he sees. He tries to help, but there isn't that much he can do. When Clary finally rescues Jace and Ben, she portals all three of them to Magnus' apartment as she knows he is the only one who can help. Both Alec and Magnus are shocked to see them, especially Ben.
