After a small alteration in the original demon slayer universe, This fanfiction is based on the concept of Tomioka Giyuu interrupting Akaza after he battles Kyojuro Rengoku. The sun is delayed by several minutes, leading to the water hashira facing several massive injuries that would make some retire. The story takes some major alterations due to this fact, certain things happening and certain things not, but generally the rest of the story that isn't included in this fic with Tanjiro and the gang still occurs. (Namely the entirety of the swordsmith village arc, because I'm lazy and don't wanna cover it.) Some people would prefer he leaves, believing he is incapable or in danger with his current injuries, but unfortunately the ever stubborn Tomioka Giyuu still believes he has things to do as a slayer, and there's only one thing that would make him retire. If she came with him.
As is standard, I of course don't own any of the demon slayer characters. I don't claim ownership over any of them and all of that fun stuff. Support the mangaka and the official release!

The boy tells him about his family being attacked. Giyu then trains the boy to become a demon slayer. Tanjiro and Giyu become much closer and they now trust one another. One day Giyu is sent to the mountains to kill a demon who is strong but not enough to be an upper rank. Giyu goes and doesn't return for days. Tanjiro is then called to the master's mansion for a meeting and is told that since he is the closest to Giyu he must go and try to find Giyu. Tanjiro then goes as he is told. As he climbs the mountains to find Giyu, the air becomes thicker and he is struggling to breathe. After struggling he finally finds Giyu, who is unconscious on the ground. He looks strange.
