The Fey were a race that evolved alongside humans. But for a reason that neither archaeologists nor historians can figure out, the Fey race became extinct within the span of 50 to 100 years. Hundreds of thousands of years later, for yet another unidentifiable reason, the Fey came back. Starting in 1839, Human parents began giving birth to Fey children. Initially thought of as a deformity, many parents chose to have their wings removed. The young Fey rarely survived. Those who chose to keep their children as they were, were astonished to find that less than a month after birth, fluffy feathers grew on their wings. By 1900, a third of all births were Fey. And by the year 2000, Fey comprised just shy of one-third of the Earth's population.

Akemi Jacobs is a Fey. When he was young, he had the wing equivalent of restless leg syndrome. His fluffy little wings were constantly aflutter. The moment his flight feathers came in, he was in the air and suffered many a broken arm or leg during rough landings. Akemi is in high school, now, one of fifteen in his school of roughly a thousand. Bullied my most (For being both a Fey and a cheerleader), adored by a few, Akemi tries to fit in.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks. "I want you too," she replied. In that instant, time seemed to stand still. We kissed in a slow, passionate embrace that ignited every nerve in my body. She pulled me against her, her hands roaming my curves. I melted into her touch, my breath ragged. Before we went any further, Kali stopped me. "Wait," she said, looking directly into my eyes. "What is it?" I asked, concerned. "I need to know that you're sure about this," Kali said, her eyes filled with uncertainty. I looked into her beautiful eyes and knew that she was being sincere. "I'm sure," I said, my voice unwavering. "I'm very sure, Kali." Kali smiled a radiant, breathtaking smile. "Okay Bella," she whispered into my ear. She nibbled my earlobe, earning a moan from me. "Can you keep quiet or are you a screamer?" "Fuck me and find out," I demanded.

She's dead by the third chapter. Okay, it's a bit more complicated than that. Okay, it's A LOT more complicated than that. Renata wants nothing more than to pay her bills through her mildly boring office job and figure out whether she is still in love with her best friend. The latter half of that desire is just a sneak peak into her messy life-and it's only getting messier. Considering the paranormal world she is about to dive head first into, she will come to realize that figuring out her heart may just be the easiest part of this journey. Well, the endless supply of supernatural hotness in this story may beg to differ-but that's besides the point. Either way, it's gonna be a killer time ;) EXCERPT Chicken tacos it is. Right as Renata grabbed the ingredients, she turned to put them next to the stove, where a clean, plastic cutting board awaited. But as she moved, she was confronted by a stranger, an intruder, standing mere inches from her. Before she could scream, he was on her, slamming her against the fridge. Her back flashed with sharp pain. Her eyes pricked with fear as she drank in his uncovered face. Deeply tanned skin. Ruby red eyes-ruby red eyes? Thick, slashing eyebrows. Flat, broad nose. Buzzcut. Handsome. That was as far as she would go in complimenting him considering this guy held a knife to her throat. When he spoke, his voice came out like thunder. It held a thousand threats and a thousand secrets. It held promise of pain if provoked. "If you scream," he warned, mouth pulled in a slight snarl, "this ends quickly." She didn't dare nod against the blade. He noticed and amusement lit up for just a second in those devilish eyes. Oh, whoever the fuck this was, she already hated him. Considering her predicament, panic was the most prominent emotion coursing through her at the moment. "Good." He removed his hand "Now you're going to answer my questions." °°MATURE AND EXPLICIT CONTENT OF ALL KINDS, AND I MEAN ALL KINDS°

Most impressive rank: 1 - Fairytale *** Casey is all alone in the werewolf world, the only family she has left is her crazy dad. her mum died of cancer, causing her dad to go crazy and start beating Casey. What's worse is that she can't get away from the violence because when she goes to school they do the same. *** I close my eyes so I could listen and smell everything in case this was the last time I would ever be in this beautiful forest. I chase away any bad or worried thoughts because this place seemed so sacred it did not allow them. I breath in and catch the sweet scent of lavender flowers that speckled the ground in little clumps and the dry smell of dirt that hadn't been rained on in a couple of day. I listen to the steady titters of birds as they fly from tree to tree, collecting little twigs and leaves to build their nests with. I listen to the buzz of the bees greedily feasting on the flowers that scattered around the dry forest floor. I open my eyes to take in the scenery, rays of sunlight filter through the green canopy, penetrating through the leaves and casting a green-yellow effulgence over the ground that wavers as the trees rustle in the light whispers of wind. The crunching of dry leaves under my feet alert me so I cast my eyes to the floor and watch as I step on each individual leaf and dry twig, enjoying the snapping sounds that echo through the near silent forest. Gnarly roots dip into ground and twisted branches reach down, fingers grasping the air, as if reaching for me and I shiver, thinking of my father. I cast my eyes up to think of something else and instantly calm as another puff of breeze rustles the leaves on the trees and ground gently. I look ahead and notice the steady thinning of the old trees and run towards it, loving the feeling of the air in my air and clothes. I spot what I think is light dancing on waters surface and sprint for it. Then I break through the trees, making it to the lake.

Now. Now's my chance. Everyone has already gone up to bed and it's only Evane and I left downstairs as the last movie ends. Despite the late hour I feel wide awake and I know Evane is still effected by my flirting and the bikini I wore earlier because she keeps glancing over to me, her eyes always lingering around my chest until she realises I've caught her looking. As the credits roll, Evane switches off the TV, stretching out her arms above her head. She looks over to me, seemingly surprised that I'm still so awake since I'm always the person who gets sleepy first. Before she can open her mouth to speak, I beat her to it. "Evane, can we go upstairs to our room? I have a surprise for you," I say, trying to hide the wide smile that wants to come over my lips. Her brow raises, wondering if I'm serious though I notice the realisation come across her face that this has something to do with what I've been hiding from her in my suitcase. "What is this surprise?" She teases, leaning forward until I can feel her warm breath washing over my face. "Something I think you'll love," I reply, trying my best to not get overly flustered as she starts flirting and teasing me. She hums, giving my lips a small kiss. "'Love', huh? Sounds exciting," she chuckles. "Let's go upstairs then, shall we?" *** Humans are unaware of mate bonds and are even less aware of other human-appearing species, but one vampire is determined to make her human mate understand the world she never knew existed - even if its not always through the most conventional methods. Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. In Compass, a sprawling metropolis built above the sea, the relationship between Human and Elf has never been better. They work together, hand in hand, to sail great ships, craft tools superior to any other, and fashion clothes that accentuate both races. Having put aside the differences between them, both humankind's empire and the elvish states have come together in many ways. Some start businesses together, venturing into the world of economics. Very few have fallen in love, creating children with elvish and human blood. Many have shared a drink under the light of the stars in open-air taverns that spring up around the town. If anything, Compass is a testament to the ability for all races to come together. Reaching for the North Star, Polaris itself, with each other. A child born from the union between human and elf, in the comforts of high society, finds herself dissatisfied with this vision of Compass. To her, the city speaks in a different tongue, one that does not follow the illusion surrounding it. People do not live together; they merely exist parallel to the other person. She has lived her life hiding from the eyes of society, alone in a house of nobility. Years passed in her life, years full of shame, grief, and loneliness. Losing her home, her status as a noble, and the family name, she ventures out and discovers more than she ever knew about the city. Here is where the story begins. (If anyone would like they could attempt to make a cover art for my god awful attempt at a novel. I hope you enjoy reading this weird tale of mine!)

A transgender woman on the biology, sociology, and history of the gender spectrum. Gender variance is nothing new. Our stories have been told as far back as the 23rd Century BCE. CHECKMATE, TRANSPHOBES! Our chromosomes come in all different variations, and even transgress into other chromosomal systems of different species, eventually transcending all the way back to asexual roots. CHECKMATE, NECKBEARDS! This is the book I wish I'd had when I first began transitioning. I had to look all over the place to find the answers - even just the questions - I was looking for. So I wrote this as a sort of bite-sized one-stop-shop on some of the different concepts that make us who we are. I hope the information found here can help others as much as it helped me.
