An arranged marriage. A deal struck between a new King and Queen. Lies and acts to prove their reign to power hungry nobles. And a gravitational pull towards one another that neither can nor want to stop.

Alessia:
I left everything behind. My home, my brothers, and the boy I loved who was going to take me away from my father's control. However, all that changed the second my father shipped me off to France to marry their new and young King Darian. It's clear he carries the wait of his family on his shoulders. I know our marriage is a sham to appease his court and I am nothing but a pawn always being shifted around my father's game. But what my father doesn't realize is that he made a Queen in his deal. And I'll be damned if I fall for a king who may never love me back.

Darian:
I wanted nothing to do with this arranged marriage. But from the moment I saw her everything changed. In exchange for promising to never send her home at her request I got her to agree to playing the part of the happy married couple to appease the nobles trying to take my family's power. However, once I start falling for my beautiful and strange wife who can wield a bow better than anyone I know and never fails to surprise me I know things are about to get a lot more complicated. And I'm starting to regret ever making this a fake marriage in the first place.

They say desperate times call for desperate measures. They even say blood is thicker than water. Still, is it really worth it marrying this unknown man? Darson truly gets on my last nerves. He's not an easy person and I'm no sweet girl myself. We're going to be one happy couple. "Darson Meldeev, CEO of the Meldeev Corporation, 6"3 in height, 23 years old." He recites as if practiced a million times. I roll my eyes. "That's general knowledge." I point out. I had seen it all when I looked him up a few weeks ago. We are newlyweds for crying out loud. Is our marriage supposed to thrive on that bit of information? "Yeah well, it's all the knowledge you'll get." He responds and I glare at him. He is so rude to others. I smooth out my wedding dress, taking a deep breath. Just go with the flow Khara. Go with the flow. "Khara Bain-" I begin but he cuts me off. "You're a Meldeev now." His voice is stern. What is he getting out of this marriage? I know for a fact this isn't by choice on either of our parts. "Khara Mel...deev. Editor at Kerr magazine, 5"8 in height. 21 years old." The car then slows to a stop. I open the car door quickly to rush out. My knees are on the pavements. My dress is stuck between the car door. My bracelet is a few feet away from me. Oh what joy.
