Amethyst Azulex is 17. She has been dreaming since she was a little kid to be a jaeger pilot. Her father had been one, but he was killed by a kaiju. Amethyst's uncle and just barely survived, and went off and saved the world 5 years and 4 months later. Her mother was unknown to her, so all Amethyst had was Raliegh Becket. In the second wave Mako was killed. She had treated her with kindness and promised her that she would some day be a jaeger pilot just like her father. But as of right now, it didn't seem like that was ever going to come true.

At least until her uncle showed up at her front doorstep, and handed her an actual Gipsy Danger drivesuit and told her to suit up. The 3rd wave had arrived. No longer from the Pacific ocean, but from the Atlantic this time. These kaiju's were extremely evolved. To be fair, it had been about 12 years since the last wave.

Raleigh needed a new left hemisphere pilot. And Amethyst had always dreamed of it. As long as they we're drift compatible, they would be the new pilots of Gipsy Danger. But soon enough, the new pilots of Saber Athena weren't having it. Sent to talk some sense into the new pilots, Amethyst met the most beautiful girl she had ever seen. Whom hated her guts. Because she was a pilot of the most popular jaeger, Gipsy Danger.
