Soon after Jamie Harker's mother died, the rich inheritance left to her- a fantasy world of sprites and pixies and faeries, to which dreams are the gateway and where magic abounds- was hidden away. She grows up with no knowledge of what she is, or who she could have been. On her sixteenth birthday, Jamie sees something that she knows cannot be real when she breaks through the veil. And so begin her questions and journey of self-discovery. But Jamie has to be careful. This new realm isn't all sweet and fairy-tale like..Real faeries are wicked indeed and she has to delve deep into the dark, ugly side of this brave new world to uncover the truth about herself.
