Magnolia, recounts her first surprising encounter with a monster, Henry Jekyll, who informs her about plans to build a hotel exclusively for monsters in the secluded area where she lives. Though intrigued by the concept, Magnolia prefers to stay away from the new establishment, given her reclusive nature.One day, Magnolia stumbles upon a lost little girl named Mavis, who claims to have been playing with ghosts in the forest. Recognizing that Mavis is from the monster hotel, Magnolia decides to return her to her worried father, Dracula, who is frantically searching for her. Dracula, grateful for Magnolia's help, extends an invitation for her to visit the hotel anytime, but she politely declines, preferring her solitude.As Magnolia continues to observe the hotel's construction and the various monsters it attracts, she finds herself increasingly entangled with the hotel's unique inhabitants and their adventures, despite her initial desire to remain distant.
