Urbosa was many things, but even she could not halt the sands of fate. When a dying Hylian mother entrusts her infant son to her, begging on her last breath to raise him as her own, her Gerudo pride could not possibly deny her final request. Link, despite being a male, would be raised Gerudo. And Urbosa would make sure her son would be the strongest warrior of them all.

(We hit Linked Universe eventually, but the first bit is definitely just BotW.)

The two become inseparable, but everything changes when Zelda hits puberty; she vanishes and doesn't show up at school. Link tries to contact and find her, but no luck. Five years later, Link is a 16-year-old man with severe depression and a Hero chosen by the Master Rifle. He is still in love with Zelda and thinks about her every second of his life. One day, Link saves a woman from the Yiga clan members, and that woman turns out to be Zelda. She tells him about where she has been for the past five years, and once Link finds out the truth, he dedicates his days to helping Zelda feel safe and happy again away from her selfish, rich father Rhoam and her forced fiance, Ganondorf. While Link and Zelda try to save themselves from the abuse, an evil prince from another country declares war on Hyrule in hopes of annexing the kingdom, and Link must go to war, leaving Zelda. The Gerudo culture was the only life Dahvi knew, and despite the fact that he was a young Hylian boy, he was raised within the walls of Gerudo City under Urbosa's care. And like his Gerudo name suggested, he was a lost child, orphaned as an infant and found by Urbosa. Urbosa had always been honest with him, and though she and Riju were his family, the older he got, the less he felt like he belonged. Soon after turning thirteen, however, Urbosa offered him the chance to learn everything he could about Hyrule, entrusting him in the care of Robbie the Sheikah who promised to teach him everything he could about surviving in the world. Dahvi soon learns not only the truth behind the legends he grew up hearing about, but the truth about who he is.
