I was never the hero, though it would be nice if I was as courageous and brave as I made myself out to be. I was a shadow in her great acts of heroism, but the world doesn't remember her that way. They all think it was me. I battled Lucy, I faced the Enfermagia. I am Sae Petrea. I am the Aethermagia.
'Tis all a lie.
It was all because of her. The real hero, the real Aethermagia. I just couldn't let her get hurt. It was not hubris that drove me to lie, I swear. It was just to protect her. She is special beyond imaginable, and several want her dead. All of Rucade and Cindercrest to be exact. It was better they think me the hero and not her. They would chase me, they would not hunt her.
I cannot lie any longer. The truth must eventually be told. That is why I am here, that is why this text exists. This is what actually happened. Throw out any bits and pieces of the story of Sae Petrea you might have heard. Assume all of it was false and listen to the true tale.
