"Please don't go," he whispered against my ear.
I leant back into his chest and inhaled the cool sea air. The beach was rather quiet except for the few couples with children or dogs laughing in the distance. Their laughter was a contrast to the pain I currently felt in my chest. The sun was setting which cast an orange hue in the sky and making it look like the sea was full of flames.
"I don't want to go but we both know it's what's right." I felt him sigh as he rests his chin on my head. I can almost feel his heart breaking against my back. His arms tightened slightly around my waist, pulling me closer, trying to keep me as close as possible for as long as he can. I played with the sand by my side, savouring every last part of this moment.
"Then why does it feel so wrong?"
