Ragnar still spends most of his time trying to keep stubborn Vikings alive only now he's doing it on dragon back and away from Berk. He's a fully trained healer now and life on Dragon's Edge is definitely going to give him plenty more experience.
What starts off as a seemingly simple adventure to explore new lands and find new dragons soon uncovers a plot that may be bigger than all of them. With new allies and new enemies both, trouble seems to follow the Riders everywhere they go.
Ragnar knows things are changing. He knows something big is coming. He also knows Hiccup needs to stop being so reckless but, at this point, that one's more hope than anything.
Seven young adults living on their own island with basically no supervision. What could possibly go wrong?
This is a sequel to my story 'Tip the Dragon Scales'.

Ragnar spends most of his time on Berk just trying to keep stubborn Vikings alive through dragon raids, the occasional wave of sickness, and (most often) their own recklessness. His best friend, Hiccup, happens to be one of the most stubborn and reckless Vikings on the island and he proves it when he does the impossible during an otherwise normal raid. Hiccup is banished from Berk for befriending a dragon, a Vikings mortal enemy, rejected for the last time, Hiccup leaves Berk after the Vikings spit on his vision of peace with dragons and he is the only one who knows where the dragons nest is and the monster that sleeps within its mountains. When Hiccup's final test in the Kill Ring does not go as planned, he runs away, sure that nothing he can ever say will change Berk's mind. At least he's not alone though, and with his cousins and several dragons by his side, they leave the archipelago. Of course, not all is smooth sailing and Hiccup's emergence as the Dragon Master earns him more than one enemy. Eventually, it also draws the attention of Berk, who are suffering from increased raids and struggling to survive.
