We were the worst that the universe had to offer. Humanity. Constantly at war with itself, over anything and everything. Resources, land, politics; it was all the same. We prided ourselves on the weapons we created. Yet, it was these weapons that we used against each other that ultimately destroyed our planet.
With war came devastating and irreversible effects on the planet and the people who inhabited it. Famine and disease pillaged and destroyed what was left. The aftermath left Earth nearly uninhabitable. Most of the land turned infertile and radioactive, causing some to resort to other means of sustenance. Cannibalism. Those that resorted to such lengths often were due to the effects of monstrous mutations. The wars on ourselves soon turned to wars on the mutated creatures that ravaged the land in search of human flesh.
War wasn't the only thing that killed our planet. Overpopulation suffocated all resources that the Earth had to offer, which only continued to lead to our downfall. As our population grew, so did the monsters that hunted us. As time passed, humanity began to adapt and slowly band together to save what was left of the planet. However, it was too late, humanity was fighting a losing war, and they knew it.

Survival in space was our only option. The dying earth and its sickly inhabitants forced us to flee to the stars. My father, the commander of the elite group chosen to live amongst the stars, brought me along for the journey. And everything was going smoothly until I unexpectedly woke up on a new planet, one with an ethereal glow and an eerie resemblance to our old home as the commander of the military space force, my father tasked his men with exploring this new world. But what they discovered was far from welcoming. This new planet was already inhabited by terrifying creatures, and they were not happy with our presence. Fate Will Have It
I wanted to tell him that I knew his favorite book, and his coffee order, and the way he clicked his pen when he was deep in thought. I wanted to tell him I knew that he sleeps on the right side of the bed and eats on the left side of the table. I wanted to tell him that I knew his worries, dreams and fears. I wanted to tell him that I knew he loved me too. I wanted to see his laugh, and know that I was the reason. I wanted to make him smile, just to see those dimples that lay heavenly on his face. I wanted his eyes to light up in joy- I wanted to see him happy. I wanted to tell him that I prided myself in the fact that I had memorized all the freckles on his skin, how his freckles birthmarks created their own galaxies of planets and stars. I wanted to tell him I would be there for him, on the bad days too. I wanted to tell him he could call be at 3:46 in the morning and just complain, I'd completely understand. I wanted to tell him that he had completely beguiled me; that he was my entire world. I wanted to tell him that I love him more than anything I had ever known. I wanted to run to him, to hug him. I wanted him to wrap his arms around me and never let me go. I wanted to never leave him. I wanted to rule by his side, as his Luna. Instead, I just turned my back in order to not let anyone see my tears. I walked away from the love of my life, for what? For fate? For destiny? Or for some foolish trick that I was walking myself into? No matter the reason, I walked away from him with tears in my eyes and sorrow in my heart. I never wanted to walk away again.
