They're back. They've found us.

"Today, the others returned. I know that sounds like it wouldn't be a big deal. Like the rest of the family went out for lunch while you stayed home. Like your parents went out on a far-away vacation and you were left behind. Like everyone left for hide and seek but you didn't know they were playing and they finally came out to see what was taking you so long.-

I could see the anger, seeping through their tone in the letter you found tape to your front door. The disappointment, weighing each letter and word down making it almost too heavy to even hold. The cruel joyousness at finally being able to find their prey after such a long hunt. The giddiness at showing you, you can never escape them. That the past will always be right behind you and I, alike, watching and waiting to make their move."
