Volume 1 of the "Age of Solace" series. (Part 1 of 4). A serious dark-fantasy story. Descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes (Rated M, no lemons present). Peace. Conflict. War. Bloodshed. This is the way of things, and this is what happened between the dragons and mankind. Once they were allies. Man was ever growing and learning, while dragons were their guardians, watching over them. But mankind was greedy, and from that greed bred betrayal towards their great allies. In times long ago, dragon and man worked together to rid their realms of the demonic presence that once invaded their lands. Together, they defeated that enemy. But now, dragons are near extinct and the demonic menace has returned. There are humans that possess abilities that allow them to fight back, but it is not enough. Such humans have banded together, in a group called Corvin's blades. They hope to be able to defeat their enemy without the aid of dragons this time... but there is more to all of this than anyone understands. This story follows multiple youthful characters as they not only aid in the fight against the demonic threat, but learn and grow as they discover more about the lands they live in and of themselves. Views on dragons are changing, demons and spirits are invading, and two individuals are in the center of everything that is happening. Was it fate and destiny... or choice and coincidence? *Rated M for descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes* * Chapters to be updated* *Cover art was made by myself. -BOOK SERIES 1- Born into a lowborn family in the sun-scorched desert lands of Marakah, Solasra is forced to flee her homeland after it is destroyed by the brutal Juroshan tribe. Seeking refuge, her family crosses the perilous Saronan Wastes and reaches the distant northern kingdom of Ethelmoor-a place of lush valleys, stone-walled villages, and guarded suspicion toward outsiders. But the battle Solasra thought she escaped is far from over. Dark forces stir beneath the surface, and her past still casts a long shadow over her future. As whispers of war grow louder and old enemies resurface, Solasra finds herself drawn toward a path she never expected-one that could lead her far from the life she's trying to rebuild. Caught between three very different lives, Solasra must navigate a world of bloodshed, betrayal, and unexpected love. She feels the pull of a simple life with a humble farmer's boy, while the powerful and ambitious prince sets his sights on her, seeing her as a challenge and a prize. Meanwhile, a boy from her past, the one who once held her heart, begins his own journey to find her, determined to reclaim the bond they shared before war tore them apart. As the road ahead unfolds, Solasra will be forced to confront hard truths and make choices that could shape not only her fate but the future of those around her.
