Follow the story of Robert J Colston a lawyer from Toledo, Ohio. After a divorce from his wife, Maria, he is left as a single father to his son, James, and his youngest child, Skylar. After a year of being apart from his wife, he has reached a serious low point in his career, and he is trying to pawn off his kids to a foster home. At this point, he also has to deal with the success of his ex-wife's new husband, Raymond Moore. Finally, he considers the ultimate ending, suicide. But nature has one thing stopping him, an event so shocking that the modern world has no idea how to respond. The dead rise, and walk amongst the living.
