"I hate this," Tom says, letting out a breath. "I hate that we don't know how to act around each other anymore." He looks at me with furrowed brows. "I-I don't know what to say," I look at him. I just wish things were back to the way they were." The doors open and he steps out, walking in the direction of my room. "Tom, I can take the bag." I walk after him, reaching my hand out for his arm as he jerks it away from my touch. "No, I want to carry it to your room. It's heavy and it hurts your shoulder."
