Vasilisa was bought at the age of eight by Shah hu ban Sultan and raised by her. She is sent ten years later to Topkapi Palace. Her purpose? Please the Sultan, support Mustafa's rise to the throne and endear Shah hu ban Sultan to both the Sultan and Şehzade Mustafa.

Vasilisa listens to all her assigned duties and decides to follow few them. She will please the Sultan, she will not support Mustafa's rise to the throne for she intends for her own son to become the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, as for Shah hu ban Sultan... well, she really should've treated her better if she wanted Vasilisa to be doing anything for her.

All those plans come to a screeching halt however, when Vasilisa finds out that her strongest competitor for the Sultan's affections happens to be her long lost cousin, Aleksandra.
