He walked into Rivendell with his hood up his ears picking up movement before he turned and caught the person in a hug, his hood falling off his head showing his face. "you miss me?" he teased with a gruff voice "course I did" the other person replied having a female voice, "We haven't seen you in years, I- we thought something happened" the person stated with a upset distant look, "darling, if something happened who would be here to help you and your idiot of a brother" he teased with a slight smile, his blue eyes having a spark of joy in them for the first time in a while.

The start of this story takes place a day before thorin and the company find themselves in Rivendell-

~ work in progress ~ uploading every Sunday ~ "He is known in the Wild as Strider," his father Thranduil had said to him, before Legolas embarked on that journey to the North, seeking the son of Arathorn amongst the Dúnedain. Yet nothing in those words-or in the King's measured tone-had prepared him for the path already carved before him. A path that would not only alter his fate but entwine it with that of a stranger he meets in the shadows of a pub in Bree. Years later, as the War of the Ring fades into legend and the twilight of the Third Age gives way to the dawn of the Fourth, this unfortunate encounter follows the elven prince still. What then began as a diplomatic mission becomes a web of choices and consequences bound by a power older-and perhaps more perilous-than even Sauron's Ring. Alliances will be tested and from the echoes of the Old War new shadows will rise threatening to unravel the peace that was so hardly fought over to be claimed. What will it take to preserve what was won, and who will rise to pay the price when peace begins to fracture? An ongoing tale inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, this story delves into the untold corners of Middle-Earth-a journey of loyalty, sacrifice, and the unseen forces of fate that shape us all. Join the adventure, and help shape the unfolding tapestry of myth, mystery, and heroism displayed not by heroes but from those who bear its cost. ~ Book 1 out of 4 ~

"Someday you will return home too." Reluctantly, she opened one of the heavy wooden chests. The lid creaked loudly as it flipped back. A dusty cloak. Coins. Letters. Rusty nails. At least a few useful things. She threw the cloak over her shoulders, put the money in her pockets and disappeared outside. Was it worth it? What was still anything worth...? Her hand slid into her leather doublet. She felt something ... soft, very small in her hand. Slowly she pulled it out and eyed it. The little crushed blue flower. Forget-Me-Not. "I will never forget you." She made her way northwarth. Homecoming. The rights of the characters, which I have invented myself and built into this plot, belong to me.
