Sage is the sole survivor of a mysterious attack on an unknown guild that was all but eradicated while exploring the Labyrinth, on the first floor no less. Despite the tragedy, Sage is determined to move forward, even with horrific nightmares ebbing away at his sanity. He wants to honor his fallen comrades, if not by name, then at least by action, by living his life to the fullest and swearing not to succumb to the uncertainties and pain of a past he can't remember. Not alone by any means, he's taken in by the very novice guild that found him in the first place, full of rookies and dubbed as "Guild Halo" by Sage. The explorers of Halo are certainly mysterious in their own rights, and Sage is all too happy to immerse himself in their lives, if only to avoid the aching fear at the back of his mind, telling him that the incident that stole his memories wasn't as black and white as it first appeared.
