Adrien refuses to believe it and vows to work day and night to prove Marinette's innocence, and spends his free time as Cat Noir searching for her. 

It's hard for the truth to come out when there's concrete and fool-proof video evidence. 

When Darla-Lila's cousin-visits from Italy to attend her funeral, Adrien suspects she may have other intentions. He pretends to be her friend and plays along with her so called sweet and perfect girl act.
