There was a before the Calamity, the little things that were seen, felt, and said that Legends don't tell.  

There was a during the Calamity, where truths are told as death wishes and secrets are taken to the grave.  

There is an after the Calamity, where wrongs are righted and a fresh start is made. But tragedy seems to follow the Princess and the Hero where they go throughout the ages, and this age is no exception.
