"Hopkins, your courage and willingness to fight is admirable, but in the current moment, it borders on idiocy."

"Captain Rhodes," Hopkins began. "I speak to you not with impertinence or lack of respect. No, I speak to you with a heart of passion, an undying love for my kingdom, a people for which I would give my life without a moment's hesitation."

Hopkins turned to face his fellow soldiers. "If we surrender here, who's to say we won't be dooming ourselves further down the road of conflict? Who's to say that this isn't the battle that could turn the tide of war?"

----------------------------

Captain Rhodes and his passionate, but also inexperienced, band of men have been stationed at a vital fort posted at the Southern border, safe from the conflict that rages up North. Or so they thought. When a scout returns from his rounds bearing grave news, the defense of the fort is left to Rhodes and his men. Loyalties are questioned, supplies run low, and reinforcements are still days away, that is, if reinforcements are even coming.

A shy child, she prefers her prayers and pearls to the hefty politics her Father and brothers have no choice but to partake in but war will reach into her life quicker than she could ever know.... Across the sea, in England, the Wars of the Roses rages, a bloody battle for the throne between the royal Houses of York and Lancaster where a word weighs as much as the swing of a sword. Amidst it all, stands Edward of York, the handsome eldest son to the Duke of York, a young knight, eager to fight but forced to flee England in 1459 when the Lancastrian King and Queen overpower his family forces at Ludlow Castle. With his Neville cousins (one being the infamous Earl of Warwick) Edward sails to France where Warwick begins his plots to regain the House of York power. It is as a result of these plots, Edward and Constance are destined to meet. Worlds apart, they will be matched for the benefit of others but when tragedy strikes at the very heart of the House of York, forcing Edward closer to the throne than ever, they find they are, perhaps, what each other needs. Amongst the tangled nest of vipers, surrounded by bloodied thorns, will they keep the crowns destiny calls for them to claim?

The Shadowbearer is made to be a stand alone of sorts and a prelude to Etchings of Power. Etchings and the other books that follow are told from different POVs than the Shadowbearer. They are all part of the interconnected worlds of the Cyclic Omniverse that currently spans 8 books. You can start with any series in the Omniverse. Now, to the blurb: In a world where magic corrupts and kingdoms constantly war, the power that drives the world stirs. It whispers promises of greatness in the heads of the men and women that wield it. Now, it has spoken to the mind of a king. Knight Commander Stefan Dorn, leader of the Unvanquished, has known only war, death and, victory. All in the name of his loyalty to King Nerian the Lightbearer, a man he idolized. Until now. Everything he thought he knew about the King, his people, and his world is coming to an end. At a time when there should be peace, he's once again called to war. Torn between shocking changes at home, his family, loyalty to his men and his King, Stefan wishes only to enjoy life away from the battlefield. But with the new campaign comes a rabid, unforgiving enemy and a potential cataclysm. Follow him as he fights to save his family, his people, his honor, and his birthright from the grips of the shade. Can he save them all? If not, which will he choose, which will he lose? The House of Ice and Fire by EliJGuard

From my blood comes the prince who was promised he would be a song of ice and fire, and yet the dead could not hear the songs, the words of brave men, weeping mothers, and dying children. When you play the Game of Thrones, you win, or you die. However, the Night King had never played fair, and in the end, neither won. As Jon Snow lay dying after his victory, of which all life was the cost to obtain it, whether by magics or by gods, Jon Snow is given a second chance at life to change the fate of mankind. Reborn as Aemon Targaryen, son of Prince Daemon Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, and cursed to live through the Dance of Dragons. Jon Snow, now Aemon Targaryen, must prepare for the Long Night once more and pray to the gods that this time, his earlier interference may give the living a better chance at life. He must succeed where his ancestors have failed and ensure the dragons live past the dance so that when the Long Night comes, they may be enough to give the living the chance they were robbed of in his last life. Through it all, Jon Snow will show the world once more that Winter is coming, and with it comes Fire and Blood. When Winter comes once more, you'll hear no dragons roar. When the winter courses freeze and go foul, you'll hear no wolves howl. But once the Long Night comes once more to the lands, the breath of the northern dragon will burn them only like the icy cold can. I do not own Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, nor the A Song of Ice and Fire universe and respective works, all rights are reserved for the respective owners of the respective works.
