It was a dark, cloudy, and stormy night. Actually, no, it wasn't. When I try to think about the night of, and the days before poor Ashley's disappearance, all I can think of is how perfect everything had been going for the Doit triplets. Perhaps all that wonderful-ness was a sign that something bad was ought to happen. After all, in this world, once things go up, they must come down. "I tracked her down, and when I was minutes away from finding Ashley, I lost her. I lost the missing girl."

A man appeared out of the shadows in front of them. "Goooood morning!" he yelled, his voice echoing through out the room. "You're a freak of nature!" Lonnie yelled at him, "and if my friends weren't here by me i'd be saying every swear word you could think of!" "What do you want with us?" Amber yelled. her voice sounding shaky as if she was going to cry. "I was just about to get to that. I am one of the many janitors of your school. Every five years I pick a group of friends to kidnap. Then my team and I spy on each of you for three months. We find out who you like, what your good at, and things you like to do. We know everything. Then we bring you here where you're placed in a series of rounds you will battle against each other in!" "So like the hunger games," Jaycie cut in. "Not quite. Each round is something one of you guys are good at. You will be in teams of two. Who ever loses will be killed." "So exactly like the hunger games," Jaycie said sarcastically. All the girls laughed. The man looking irritated from Jaycie's joke said while gritting his teeth, "these are your teammates." He yanked on a rope lifting a curtain that seemed to not have been there revealing seven boys.
