"Alex, you have to understand..." She was panting. Her expression bespoke of desire. How could he push her away any longer? He had to try, one last time before there was no turning back.

"If we go any further...I can't have you like a human man has a human woman. I would have to bite you and drink your blood." He forced himself to stare into her eyes as he uttered those words, trying to ignore every nerve in his body that screamed for him to continue.

Alex considered his words for a moment before she finally said "I know".

She tried to sound calm and reassuring, not to betray the slight apprehension she still felt. "I know everything, and I want it. With you."
