After the invention of biocybernetics, society spirals into warring factions, struggling to hold on in the ruins of North America. 
   Maren, a free Unevolved, must fight to keep her clan of orphans and runaways alive in the outskirts of Cybio Cell 17. The Foxes are in constant danger, from Cybio police to other Unevolved bands to starvation. 
    She's out on a normal scavenging run when she recognizes a newcomer to the city. 
  Riley went from clan kid to slave when his parents signed a patronage contract with a wealthy Cybio family. When Riley's Cybio master finds out that Riley was a member of an illicit clan, Riley has no choice but to flee to another cell. 
    The last thing he expects is to find a member of his old clan living there. 
  With the Pura and Cybio societies rapidly deteriorating, the Unevolved clans must figure out a way to survive as the already-fragile world falls once more to the brink of collapse.

They also didn't breathe heavily, as this one was doing now. He was just as frantic as I was, and his eyes were also just as fearful and wide. He was human. But his arm wasn't. ** Now, within dead cities and abandoned highways, Morgan fights to stay hidden from the Scrappers as they search for humans. She travels alone and trusts no one but herself. But when Morgan meets a boy named Jude with a metal arm, something only the Scrappers could have given him, she chooses to trust him despite her fears telling her otherwise. Not only was Jude taken by the Scrappers, but he was also the first one to survive them and now they want him back. With the Scrappers still hunting them, Morgan and Jude travel east in hopes to find more humans. As their group slowly grows, Jude hides the secret about his arm but when one of their group betrays them, he's found out. When they leave Jude behind for the Scrappers to find, Morgan surrenders herself over with him, even when it may cost her her life. Their task is to set up a base on a supposedly habitable planet and prepare it for colonization. Although the planet has liquid water and a breathable atmosphere, it is believed to host only microbial life. However, upon arriving, Shawn and the rest of the colonists learn that assumption was grossly incorrect. In a brutal attack from rampaging wildlife, everyone but Shawn and four other colonists are killed. The five survivors retreat to the cavernous network beneath the ground seeking safety, but they soon come to a terrible discovery. These caves aren't ordinary caves, and they are no safer down under than they were on the surface. [][][] This was originally my entry for the 2021 Open Novella Contest, and it received an honorable mention! It has now been expanded into a full length novel. Only Hinka HellsPath, her corporate boss stands in the way, and possibly, one of her old clones, the one even smarter than herself. To defeat the all powerful mind-controlling cyborg networks, she'll have to reconnect with her outcast father and solicit the help of a super-sized human brain living in a giant fishbowl, and an AI consciousness cross-bred with the temperament of a canine pet.
