Oakley Russo, a 19-year-old pre-med neuroscience major at NYU, spends her days studying and partying with her best friend Kennedy, a chemical engineering major at the same school. After getting in a fight with Kennedy at a party, Oakley wanders off into a nearby town. Unbeknownst to Oakley, the town had been evacuated due to an Avenger's level threat. After being repeatedly shot at, she runs into a nearby home, where she encounters none other than Natasha Romanoff, injured and alone. Oakley, wanting to help, convinces her to let her aid her. She manages to drag Natasha out of the town and back to the University lab. Out of fear that she was followed, Oakley grabs Natasha's gun to watch over her while she recovers. Not much has happened since she moved into the Avengers compound, and she's okay with that. She spends most of her time helping the newest Avenger, Wanda Maximoff, hone her raw strength, which is no easy feat. Natasha's happy to help until both of them start to have a few unfortunate realizations. Like maybe that twinge in Natasha's gut is jealousy, and maybe Wanda has a thing for women who could kill her a million different ways. (Slow-ish burn, post-Age of Ultron, takes place between AOU and Civil War when the six new Avengers are living together in the compound.)
