WINNING MEANS BEING A RICH A-HOLE AND NOT STARVING TO DEATH. LOSING MEANS DYING. THE HUNGER PANGS HAVE HIT US ALL... •In the ruins of a place known as the United States of Canada lies the nation of Happy Funland, a city of mass inbreeding and partying surrounded by twelve outlying Districts. The Big Boy, the capitol city, is like a helicopter parent and keeps the Districts under their thumb by sending one boy and girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Fun Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen year old Kantmiss Neverclean regards it as a 'sick party bro' when she brutally takes her sister's place in the Games. She's kind of a bully. But Kantmiss has been to a party before, but her friends kicked her out so she shot them all with a machine gun. Hence the name Kantmiss. So partying is definitely a real treat for her. Meaning to, she becomes a contender. If she is to win, she has to make choices that aren't that important.
