A lot of the information in this book regarding the au has changed as well, and while the main storyline/details are the same, a *large* amount of things, including a few major ones, have changed. . !!! ALSO I DO NOT SHIP POTATO AND KO !!! This fic was written in 2017, and I was 13 at the time. While it wasn't even anything I shipped at that time, either, it was only put in the story because of reader appeal. I never did ship it, and I never will, and I very much loathe younger me for including minor (and skippable) moments like there are in the story. Direct crosspost from Ao3 This is an INTENSELY self indulgent prequel for the events of Monster Hunter World following the life of the Commander. Fic takes place from the First Fleet setting out and covers things like the Celestial Pursuit ending up on a mountain, the Scoutflies, the Seeker peacing out, the Research Base crash landing, and some other stuff I'm forgetting, and ends right before the opening sequence of the game. So if you like Monster Hunter, and for some reason you're not here for the monster part (why are we here? Where is the appeal beyond big monster?), we're here together. Ngl, I wrote this because he is 100% my OC's type, and I had brain worms until I wrote it all out. I'm freeeee! The PoV is from the Commander instead of said OC so we get to see more fun things than "oh god he's hot. Oh god I'm gay. Oh god." Instead we get stuff like "Woah cool bugs. Ha ha cute monsters! AH BIG MONSTER!" You're welcome. Fun fact: I played the game in French, so I have ZERO HANDLE on how their dialog sounds in English. *Finger guns and skates off into the sunset* *This is a grammatically LAX fic. We die like confused highschoolers before the AP English test.

Aaron felt that rain clouds surrounded him and he was perfectly comfortable with that, he didn't like people- end of story. That is until Keira, the personification of sunlight and his new next door neighbour comes along and flips his entire love for solitude on its head. Then the rain clouds begin to disappear... Aaron sat and listened to me as shadows danced off his jaw, I watched as it flexed. "I cant believe anyone could find you too much" he said looking almost perplexed by the idea of it. "I mean your laugh, your voice, your smile, it all fits you so perfectly" My breath hitched at his words. No one had ever said that to me it felt almost like a confession of some sorts. Intimately whispered in the soft lighting of my kitchen like a secret being told. I laughed then to break the intense atmosphere that had taken over but it just made his eyes crinkle and his dimples appear. "Oh" was all I could say. I was actually speechless. I mean what could I say to that without spilling my guts to him. Hi! This is a grumpy x sunshine, next door neighbour, he's obsessed with her and she's oblivious to it romcom. Also this is my first ever attempt at writing so please leave any feedback/ improvements you feel I can make in the comments lol. Also I don't usually read over my writing so sorry for any mistakes.
