"Let me explain." He begged from beside me. 

"There's no need to." I slowly got up, not bothering to look at his face. He would only try to break down my resolve with those eyes of his. 

"But you left-" His voice cracked. 

I still refused to look as I felt him make his way towards me. "I refused to sit around and be a pawn in your game."

A pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around my waist before I could make my escape, sending shivers down my spine. "You're not a game to me." 

"Let me go, Julian." 

His breath hit my cheek as he spoke. "That's something I'll never do, Lace." He molded his body to the back of mine, making me gasp. "You're mine."
