Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Hope Mikaelson was dealing with her ex-boyfriend; Landon Kirby...had tried to kill her while possessed by his father; Malivore. She never forgave him for it....because it was pointless for her to. Also, she had come to realize...that Landon was not right for her.

One night, on the night of the super moon, the ground beneath the school rumbled violently. This was no natural earthquake...this was different. And as the quake shook the ground...the tomb that housed the sleeping being had opened ever so slightly...breaking the long-thought impenetrable seal on the tomb.

A powerful voiced emanated from the tomb...calling out to anyone who wandered close to it. Hope had heard it. It whispered in desperation. It was trapped.

She went in search of the tomb and found a marble coffin. She opened it expecting to see a corpse...only to be surprised to find a beautiful sleeping teenage boy...his entire body bound in chains. She was mesmerized by his angelic appearance...and then his eyes opened.
