Thousands of the Stained that came over the mountains at the Crack of Dawn had fallen by his hands. Xoris could recite this to himself daily, but it was getting harder to deny the urges and instincts that lay restless beneath his skin, immoral, invasive thoughts keeping him awake.

When a failed mission from the king wracks him with guilt beyond his handlings, Xoris leaves the kingdom of Korim to the edges of the crack in the sky. No quest, no final destination in mind, with the only Beast to slay being the voices in his mind, and the only treasure to seek, himself.
