Is it the fact that it's a part of our lives? Whatever it is, Markus was soon to find out that no matter what value a memory has for us, the memories can be lost, and life moves on.

Throughout life, everyone saves something up. Mostly it is money or some little things like stamps and coins, but we all unconsciously collect emotions and memories our entire lives because we are human beings, and the mental world is more important to us than the physical one. However, this book is not going to be about our savings but our life-long losses. This is a book of lost things. It is partly autobiographical, but most of it is generalising. Because of the topic, it may seem depressive. Partially it is. Again, we are talking about losses. Some get discarded and never forgotten, some make us laugh or cry, and some it's nothing more that a soft smile. However, what if you were to get memories from your past life? Not memories of yourself, memories of your soulmate, how do you react? The only thing is, they stop when you found them. When Bell has this struggle throughout the final summer just before her senior year, she handles not as you would expect. Taking the information but doing not much about it. Those memories slowly start to mix in with everyday life till it's nothing new to her. Everything seem to stop when she finally started talking to a fellow classmate. and from there, they start to make there own memories, slowly working there way to the epilogue.
