In a broken kingdom, a 16-year old girl named Aribella Thompson (and Oryx Selv, a 17-year old boy, but he's not that important) is running for her life. She can't stop, more like she won't, from the creatures that lurk in the shadows, waiting to strike, and kill. The Xortz, the people call them. Their reign is endless, their power unstoppable. But when another kingdom declares war on this broken one, trying to end the Xortz's reign once in for all and free the people trapped under their reign, Aribella's fate is tangled in the plan to stop the Xortz, even if she likes it or not.
