She was an empty word, a missing link in a string of promises. She shone like the stars in the night, but could be blown out of the sky so easily, instantaneously. It was easier to take her down, than it was to put her back up again. And how many times he had tried, and how many times she had cried. Phone calls in the middle of the night, talking after dark and messages handed around scrawled on textbook paper. He tried so hard to help her, comfort her, but sometimes it wasn't enough. He has a few close friends, I am a loner. He's a "bad boy" and I'm "mute" We both have secrets we don't share with anyone. I don't talk so he chooses to do all the talking for me. Like they say, silence is the most powerful scream. This story might be a bit darker than my other ones. I've wanted to write a story like this for a while. Please enjoy Silent Scream.
