"I can't do this anymore... I just can't." I whispered to myself.

"Can you please tell me what happened?" I heard him say before completely zoning out.

My heart was racing, my palms were sweating, my ears were ringing and my eyes were burning and misted with unshed tears, so much so that I couldn't see him at all, just a blurry, misshapen shadow.

Like a broken record, flashbacks of that fateful day kept replaying in my head. As much as I wanted and tried, the events of that day couldn't be suppressed. It was as if they were imprinted on my brain like a red-hot iron on flesh.

I flinched slightly and returned to the present as I felt his cold wedding ring move from my shoulder to my elbow until it landed on my right hand, which he placed over his heart.

My eyes widened as I felt his heart beating like a wild animal trying to break out of its cage.

Squinting my eyes, I focused on his face and realized that he was moving his lips, but because of the ringing, I couldn't make out a word he was saying.

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and decided it was time to finally tell Nathan the truth about everything, about what had happened five years ago and how we had gotten here.

"It all started at Iseph's wedding, that's when I got the call..."

"For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "But since you're mine, and I can't hurt you," he continued, his voice calm despite the heat of his breath, "I'll go after the one who dared to touch what's mine. He won't see the next sunrise." Tears filled my eyes, and I shook my head. A cold chill ran through me as his tone turned deadly. "I'll make him suffer," he promised darkly.
