Malek Mikaelson is one of the most feared Mikaelson's like his older brother Klaus. Malek welcomed his vampire side with open arms and relished in everything he did, Malek quickly became ruthless and insane.

Malek is Rebekah's younger brother and Henrik's older brother.

Being the the second youngest Mikalesons has its perks such as being Klaus favourite brother thus resulting in Malek not ever being daggered.

But after Malek falls in love with a beautiful women named Claire Forbes in and around the 1920's , who dies several years later, after that, Malek begs Klaus to dagger him as he is unable to deal with the pain of losing her. Klaus refuses but after witnessing Malek compel a person to dagger him, he decides to do it for him. 

Malek is thankful and is daggered, able to avoid dealing with the pain for now and years later is awakened by Klaus to help him and his older sister Rebekah find out why Klaus can't sire hybrids.
