Being a poor young adult in the 19th century was hard, especially for Carnell. He often got himself caught up with the wrong people at the wrong times resulting in him severely injured a lot. He had a hard life, living on the streets with his best friend and their dog, having to steal to live; he's faced much hostility in his life except this time he didn't have enough strength to seek help.

Ariella Jackson was a normal girl living a normal life as a 21st century teenager. She's always with her two best friends, Nova Johnson and River Devlin. Growing up, Ariella believed she lived in an ordinary world, you're born and you die, you can't cheat death. She starts her last year at school without knowing things will be changing.
