[ A girl who is dying meets a boy who never will. ]

Elta knows her days are numbered. And she's quite content to spend them quietly on her own, isolated in her rural home with her single mother. And while her mother struggles with the inevitable, Elta has made her peace with Death.

Then one cold winter day, a new neighbour moves in next door(ish) to their remote farm. Though everyone else is charmed by the strange man, Elta finds something odd about him. Her suspicions are confirmed when she visits his house only to find all the windows boarded up and a monster living inside.
