Kristy is an 18 year old girl whose had to take care of her little sister, Caylin, since she was 10. Her father died in a car accident the day of Caylin's birth, and their mother just completely shut them out because of his death. Her abusive boyfriend, Hunter, really isn't much help to Kristy's life, and every time Kristy believes something is going great, he crashes it. She goes behind his back and, despite his advice that her dreams with crumble before her eyes, auditions for The X Factor, changing her life, but she's not sure if for the better or worse.
