it has been 5 years since Lily's sister Daisy was kidnapped and killed. Since then she has lost everyone she ever loved. Her mom died in childbirth, and her dad killed himself. Her grandmother and aunt dropped her off at boarding school, and turned a blind eye. She hasn't seen them since she was 9. Lily is now 14 years old and has been in boarding school in England since everything happened. She has developed a slight British accent because of it. She despises boarding school and wishes to leave, but there is no one to take her in. She was on her way home from her holiday in Istanbul via the orient express. She had no idea how much one train ride would change her life.
