Imogen Fox, the personal assistant and wife-to-be of John Oakby, the Mayor of Fleckney Woulds, a small and peaceful county town, arrives at her office one rainy morning, only to find a corpse there - and her fiancé standing over it, his hands covered in blood.

The victim turns out to be the husband of the woman everyone in Fleckney knows of. In the past she had been a part of several scandals involving the sons of the most wealthy and powerful families in the county, before she left for London in pursuit of a better life - and a richer husband. This isn't Imogen's first murder investigation, but it might yet prove to be the most challenging one. In order to catch the culprit Imogen will have to unearth the secrets of many of her dear friends, including the local police sergeant; the vicar; the husband of her closest friend who owns most of the property in the county; a famous military writer, residing in Fleckney - and unsurprisingly, the Mayor himself. Meanwhile, someone is breaking into people's gardens and ruins their lawn, digging for something.

With only three months left until her wedding, Imogen has her hands full.

Fly fishing was something that her late husband, Harry Pell, loved to do. When Hadley's friend, Hobie Stricker, invites her to try for the Big One, she only has trout in mind. A dead body brings a lot of unwanted attention and a lot of unanswered questions, too. Her brother-in-law, Sheriff Bill Whittaker has sworn Hadley to secrecy. The newly elected mayor of Hope Rock County is giving the good sheriff a fit. There are rumors that he wants to clean house, especially at the local law enforcement's office. How can you not trust your younger sister with all that you know? How do you keep the peace in the family and keep Bill's trust? It seems you can't. At least, not without one big sister fight. To mend family fences and help heal Maury's hurt feelings, Hadley decides to take her little sister on a road trip. But this is not just any road trip. Hadley makes reservations at the VistaView Motor Court, a revamped and renovated resort built in the 1920s. She visits her local beauty shop for a trim before heading off, but when Lou Edna, proprietor of the Beauty Boutique, hears that she and Maury are planning to hightail it out of town, the beautician insists she must accompany the pair. It's going to take a lot of fast talking to smooth this out with Maury. There is mystery surrounding the VistaView, and it's been decades in the making. Lost Cause (A Daisy Dunlop Mystery ~ Book 1)

41 parts Complete

British female sleuth, Daisy Dunlop, thinks she's found her dream job. Too bad she has to work with her worst nightmare, private investigator Solomon Liffey. They've barely spoken since he took her husband's request to keep her safe far too literally and handcuffed her to the kitchen sink. Solomon has no interest in babysitting a new partner, especially this one. The woman's a bleedin' liability. She has no concept of danger and could flirt for England at the next Olympics. As if that isn't bad enough, she has a habit of sticking her nose in where it's not wanted, including into Solomon's very private life. Determined to keep Daisy safely out the way, Solomon sets her the task of finding a missing person. Her investigations land her in the middle of his case. Bullets fly, bombs explode, and the number of murder victims keeps rising. When Solomon goes missing, the tables are turned. Now his future is in Daisy's hands.
