Taking care of the utensils you use to cook your food, is as important as taking care of your health. How long your non-stick cookware lasts, depends entirely on you. There are a lot of mixed signals regarding whether or not to take care of your non-stick cookware. But if you wish to use your non-stick cookware for a longer duration, some basic care is definitely required. Here are some basic non-stick cookware use and care tips:

Wash before every use
Before using it for the first time, it's best to wash your nonstick cookware with lukewarm soapy water. This will remove any residues - be it oil or dirt. Rinse well and dry it completely before cooking food in it. Also, one must ensure that the cookware is washed in the same manner after every use. Do not use rough or abrasive tools to wash non-stick cookware like steel wool, stiff brushes, or scorching pads. These tools are harsh on the surface and will ruin your cookware.

Utensils to be used in non-stick cookware
Unknowingly, a lot of people do not think before using metal utensils in non-stick pans and kadai. In reality, not all metal utensils should be used as they have sharp edges and may peel the coating, damaging your non-stick kadai and pans. Use only safe utensils such as a wooden spatula or heat-resistant silicon spoons in nonstick cookware. Even a small scratch on the coating can lead to peeling- off entire non-stick coating.
