'Once upon a time.' 'And they lived happily ever after.' Fairy tales. Princess stories. The tales your dad tells you as he tucks you into bed when you are just a young child. The sutff only Walt Disney can really create. Things that only ever happen in books, and in movies. Things I wish could happen in real life. Things I wish could happen to me. Arabella's life is a mess. A complete and total mess. Forget about the crown that sits on top of her head, the jewles around her neck, and the princes trying to win her over. When you take away those things you're left with a young women who wants nothing more than to be happy. On the outside she has it all, but really she has next to nothing. She's the crown princess. And she's getting married. But not to her true love. No; she's getting married to none other than Prince Demtri. But she has a secret. And so does he. This is not your normal fairy tale, not your normal love story, and not your normal arranged marriage story. This is a story about Arabella and how she finds who she really is, how she learns to open her heart and trust someone. This is the story about Demtri; how he changes his ways, and against all odds finds love. They both want their happy ever after and right they dont have it.

When I was a little girl, I believed in fairy tales. I believed in princes and princesses and knights in shining armor. I believed in forever and happily ever afters. I was ten when reality hit me. My mom brought the evil home with her and there was no escaping it. That's when I learned that fairy tales were just that: fairy tales. The bad stuff is real, though. The difference is that I now know that the monsters and evil villains don't always wear capes and ugly scars. No: most of the time, they appear normal. I'm drowning in reality, in my life, and I've given up hope that a knight in shining armor will rescue me. But maybe... maybe I don't need a Prince Charming after all. Maybe a knight without the shining armor and a broken smile will be enough to save me. *Please note this is only a five chapter sample of the published book.
