Swaraj Tractor is the second-largest brand in the country. At the same time, the reason why the brand is the favorite of all the customers is that "Mera Swaraj" is their breath sentence. The Swaraj brand became the first indigenous 20 HP design or model of the Swaraj brand by 1969 after the Government of India established its own Indigenous Tractor Design and Development Institute (CMARI) in 1965. Later in the year 2000, the Punjab government reduced its share in Swaraj Tractors, raising the issue of capital or investment, which further reduced the market position of Swaraj Tractors. At that time, when the company's profit fell to Rs 80 crore, Mahindra focused on buying a majority stake in PTL.

Mahindra Tractors further segregated the Swaraj brand. Later, Swaraj Tractor started manufacturing under Mahindra's equipment. Then Mahindra saw its popularity and focused even more on it. At the same time, they have turned their attention to the recovery of past arrears which dealers have taken out. They also did their own ads, so new dealers were added along with them.

Due to the increasing impact of sales, this tractor became very popular among farmers as well as traders. Due to the good sales response of Swaraj Tractor, its production started from 22 HP to 72 HP. Although the brand is old, its popularity is still high. Looking at the market share of this brand, it is 12%. The brand is exported to Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Gambia, Zimbabwe, and many other countries. At present, there are more than 700,000 customers of Swaraj in all the countries.
