~ Part 1 ~

Beatrix is trying to finish her first novel in 1966 when she meets Paul at a party thrown by the art dealer Robert Fraser. Starting an affair with Paul McCartney is a terrible idea, but she just can't seem to stop herself. 

1966 is a transformative year for Paul with the release of Revolver, the genesis of Sgt Pepper, and the end of the Beatles touring years. Paul is trying to reconcile being both an artist and a Beatle when he meets Beatrix.

As Beatrix is increasingly drawn into the chaotic and bizarre circus of the Beatles' inner circle, she tries to find her place as Paul's partner without losing herself in the process. 

1967 is a year of epic highs and dramatic lows for Paul as the Beatles release Sgt Pepper, meet the Maharishi, and embark on a Magical Mystery Tour.  In some ways Beatrix is still elusive to him, but these days he is very familiar with what her knickers look like.

Several of them were screaming bloody murder (due to the excitement of the fallen Beatle or because they were being pushed and shoved was unknown). "Paul McCartney! It's him!" they shrieked in utter amazement as they ripped at his hair and his clothes.... The year is 1964, and The Beatles have made it big...maybe a little too big, for, everywhere they go, they're ambushed by fan girls. Usually, the lads from Liverpool are quicker than the crowd, but, one day, the fans happen to grab a hold of none other than The Beatles' bassist, Paul McCartney, effectively beating his body and mind to a pulp. This angst/hurt comfort story tells the tale of Paul McCartney, who has been scarred by the brutality of his attack, and his three friends, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, who are trying their best to help Paul and his paranoid state of mind. Will the three friends help Paul? Or will they only make his situation worse? If so, will Paul go so far as to quit being a Beatle? Read "I'll Cry Instead" to find out! Using the opportunity to 'visit' the boys in Hamburg, Hannah and Minnie finally escape Liverpool all together but when it transpires George will have to go home early, Hannah can't go home with him. And she can't explain why. Saying goodbye to George breaks Hannah's heart. She and Minnie leave Germany and Hannah doesn't think she'll ever see her first love again, but fate and destiny has other plans for The Beatles, and for Hannah and George as well. This story is really six stories in one. Each part could be read as it's own separate story, or read all parts together to experience the very up and down relationship between Hannah and George, through Beatlemania and beyond.
