The CHALLENGE: Write a story about...
"... a little girl (around tha age of ten), who can talk to flowers. One day, she walks to school, but on her way, she walks past a place that's cordoned off with police tape. She hears the flowers in the cordoned place talk about some sort of extreme event! She figures out a murder has been commited and the flowers know more about that. The girl doesn't dare to speak about this gift of hers, because it caused the death of her mother. So she ponders about the question... Will she help the police or not...?" (Translated for those who don't speak Dutch.)

30 Days, 30 Stories: A Writing Challenge
This is a 30 day writing challenge, a collection of short stories. I've always been a world class procrastinator. The goal of this challenge is to get me writing regularly and, hopefully, break me of the perfectionist thinking that often paralyses me. The Rules: 1. Write and publish 1 short story (flash fic, vignette) per day for 30 days. 2. Stories must be at least 100 words. 3. They can be of any genre or subject matter. Like a lot of writers I have notebooks lying around full of random story ideas. Most of my older ideas are for novels and screenplays. Been going thru my old ideas and picking out the ones I think lend themselves to the short story format. I'm also working on coming up with NEW ideas that I can use here. Never been good at using prompts, but this is a good opportunity to experiment with those. All the stories here are original works written specifically for this challenge. Moving In
Blaze White is the New Girl at the Prep school in her mothers old home town. But her only goal for senior year is to keep a low profile, no friends, no parties and NO boys. Axel may be adored and worshipped by his peer-but he hates people, except 5. So when a beautiful but closed off girl suddenly enters his group. He is not welcoming of the mysterious beauty despite the pull they both feel. •••• WARNING: This was written many moons ago. I have decided to put it back up because of a large request from readers. However, I was a kid when I wrote this so take it with a grain of salt. *** Like a deer in head lights, I freeze and watch as the car comes towards me expecting to get hit. But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."Complete
Obsession.

Flower Steps
Something came to Gisselle, when she suddenly crashed into a car while driving, a guy was there, helping her and trying to heal her. She felt something in her hand, she could smell it. She had a flower held in her hand. "Keep it safe, you might need it for luck." The guy's voice was low and mysterious. "What for?" I said, my head felt unconscious and light headed, I felt like I don't remember anything and wanted to throw up because of being light headed. The guy hasn't respond, but I got up to the door and deciding that if I should go home or go to school in the middle of the day. A hand held my wrist, still holding the flower that was in my hand. "Not yet, I'm not done. You have a major bruise on your head, I'll get you some ice." I didn't want ice, I felt like I wanted to go home, but I stayed for a while because I don't know where had my car go or where to exit. How did I get here? What happened? Why am I here? I needed answers, but I guess I'll save it for the last.Complete

Its Leah again here to rant about how obsessed I am with the new kid from NYC. He has such a bad boy vibe, not to mention all the rumors floating around town about why he got sent here. We don't get a lot of excitement around here in this small town. I spend most of my time as a ball of anxiety, but painting helps. My little sister Mia is like therapy when she sits down and paints with me. She is such a little angel. It seems like there's Never anything exciting, until the one day there was. After that day it became ritualistic and the secrets started to come out one traumatic event at a time Sincerely, Leah Brauner. This story is about a high school girl that has a crush on the new kid that just came to town from New York with a dark backstory. Not only does she have a new crush in town but there are a bunch of other secrets that have been coming to light with every sunrise the town sees. This town might be small but boy is there a lot of drama. The town police don't know what's worse, the splayed out animals or the missing high school girls. Leah doesn't know what to think as the town she knew as her home falls to shambles. Will she fall with the town or will she run away with the mystery man she has a secret obsession with.
