Eda sighs through her pillow, face heating up like there's no tomorrow. She can't even handle it and the fact that her sister isn't laughing at her anymore lets her know that everything should now be taken seriously.

But the word seriously was never in her vocabulary now does it?

"Edalyn." Lilith sighs, sitting on her bed with a sigh. "You're no picnic, you know that?"

"Thanks for the words of encouragement." she snarkily replies, refusing to look up from her pillow and forcing herself to breathe through the fabric. Eda can already imagine her sister's arms crossing over her chest once she heard the brief shuffle from the corner of her bed.

"You must really love dragging me through this, don't you?"

"Drag you into what?"

Lilith stands up, shaking her head in disbelief. How could Eda be this...this?

Ugh!

"Oh for goodness sake just confess already!"

"Hurry up, cultie," Ardith was looking at her again. "You better get used to things, fast." Lilith tried to wet her lips using her tongue, but the sensation was as unpleasant as sandpaper rubbing against itself. "What's... a 'cultie'?" "Means you were in or are from one of those weird obsessive cults," Ardith said. Her voice carried a subtle annoyance, as if she was saying something obvious. "A... cult?" "Yes, a cult," Ardith said. They leaned forward and snapped their fingers loudly twice in front of Lilith's face, causing her to jolt back. "So wake up. There's work to do, and we haven't got all day." ~ "It's not a matter of if you deserve it or not. Do you want it?" A simple question, really, one with only two answers to choose from. But to Lilith, it felt as if she had been thrust to the very edge of a precipice, and was now dangling over the depths of a familiar abyss. It wasn't until she stared into the depths of her own elegiac soul that Lilith finally felt an answer forming at the tip of her tongue ~ A Series of Bayisrian & Necelian Tales: The Book of Exi ~ A tale in which a naive young woman was raised in an obsolescent lifestyle and fashion-believing marriage to be a guaranteed solution in making her future perfect-but now finds herself waking up in a technologically advanced and high-security facility, where she is forced to formulate a plan with other prisoners to escape before they each lose their free will for good. ~ [Book cover was a commission created by the lovely @murttburt]

"You just have no idea." His voice was thick with restraint. "W-what," I breathed. His gaze flicked to my lips as his thumb stroked again. The calloused pad against my soft flesh sent goosebumps down my arms. His once warm eyes were dark as they lifted and bared into my soul. "What you do to... men." His husky whisper weakened my knees. I almost fell but his other hand settled on my hip, pulling me closer to him. "What you do to me," he added on a breath. The hand on my jaw shifted. His fingers left trails of tingles as he slipped them back slowly, under my earlobe and into my curls. *************************************************** As a young girl, Charlotte Avery's favourite pass time was daydreaming about her Prince Charming: Archer Johnson. "We share a fucking bed!" He follows me out of the bathroom, grabbing my wrist when I had turned my back to him. "What's fucking wrong with you now? You threw a bitch fit when you were at the hospital, and now when I compliment you, you're mad at me." "Maybe you shouldn't give compliments with the hope of getting me on your dick!" I snatch my wrist back, turning around to face him, but I smacked into his chest. He took that as an opportunity to grab both of my arms and hold them together behind me. "If I wasn't raised better, I'd spit on you." "And if I wasn't raised better, I'd kick your motherfucking teeth out," he gritted, shaking me when I struggled in his hold. "Would you stop!" He raised his voice, causing my insides to quiver, and my limbs stopped moving. "What is your problem?" "I'm not one of them," I spit angrily, "You can't make me look stupid before charming me. If you think you have to force yourself to compliment me in order for me to spread my legs, then you don't know me," I breathed harshly, my chest brushing against his body, and momentarily, his eyes flickered downward. "I'm offended. You think I'm trying to 'charm' you," he uses air quotations before slamming me against the wall right next to the bed, "When all I have to do is wink to get you to flood your underwear." "I'd like to see you try." I grind out, causing him to smirk at me. A different one this time. One that unsettled me. His lips curved up nicely, yes, but his eyes weren't sparkling with mischief. He didn't seem too happy with me calling him out the way I did. "Bet," he inhaled sharply before backing away from me, his smirk lifting higher, and it morphed into a beautiful smile. "See you at practice, bitch." Carson 'Storm' Speros and Raine Carter have a long way to go, battling through the abnormalities of their unique college and the tough time sharing a baseball team. Will Raine start to see the light in Carson and accept him? We'll see.

"Get out." A voice suddenly boomed coming down the stairs, Rachel. What is she doing here? I thought Hunter had banished her. "Rachel." I whispered as soon as she was now face to face with me. "Babe." That voice. That deep alluring voice I had miss so much. I couldn't help but smile when I saw him walking down the stairs. He was walking towards us and once he reached me, I was going to throw my arms around him that is until he threw his arms around Rachel giving her a lingering kiss on her lips which only made my lips burned. My jaw droped and Rachel's lips smirked glaring at me. What the fuck is going on? "Hunter!" I yelled. Pulling him away from Rachel, Hunter glared at me with cold emotionless eyes. I didn't or couldn't see an ounce of sympathy towards his mate. "TY." He spoke my name coldly, "What are you doing here?" Is this some sort of joke. He asks me what I'm doing here? I thought since we never seen each other for a month he would be glad to see me, instead I find him lip locking with another she-wolf. "What the hell is this?" I growled. "What is what?" He asked confused. "Don't play stupid Hunter, this. You are kissing Rachel in front of me, your mate." Hunter chuckled, "My mate? You must be mistaken but Rachel is my mate."
