I'm just re-publishing this story. Sometimes we have to make a decision on whether to choose between what our hearts desire or sacrifice for the one's we love.

Sometimes it takes a painful situation for us to realize our mistakes and change our ways.

You have a right to feel the way you do. You have a right to keep things private or to share and speak about these experiences to others. No matter what you choose, it is your decision to make. However, do not let your fear dismiss the truth. Do not believe the lies you constantly tell yourself to ignore the pain you are feeling. Do not let the sum of someone else's trauma silence you.

When you reach a certain age, you expect milestones to pile on top of each other. It's suppose to be extraordinary but that's fantasy. Real life, people don't just get everything and sometimes when they do get everything it's not what they needed at all. So what's better? To have it all? Or to have nothing but a dream?

Can you explain every conscious move you made? Most, probably, but maybe not the most important, the ones that make you who you are, the decisions that define the person you've become. Visiting a tropical island where my narrator didn't want to go in the first place, he almost became responsible for the death of a man. A dear man. An intimate friend... almost.

There's a lot of things wrong with this place. This world. I never really understood it. Never understood why my mom said, "You're gonna change the world someday." Maybe it was better when i didn't understand that. Knowing too much can always get you into trouble. Something i never wanted, something i never asked for....but here we are...
