There is no isle, instead they have a real legal system. Evie's mom knows she will lose her case. She makes a ritual spell, to trade Evie's life for power. However when she summons Hades first born, Evie is the one who gets all of the power. Mal takes Evie back to her castle and has adorable protectiveness. Really, it is overly complicated and adorable, more explanation of the world, and rules of this world are on the first chapter.
