[SPOILERS FOR PROMARE]

What would have happened if Lio and Galo didn't manage to stop Kray Foresight? What if Kray had succeeded in using Burnish people as fuel and transported 10.000 humans to Omega Centauri?

____________________

He lost everybody after the Great Disaster, and Kray Foresight revealed himself as the tyrannical person he was. He managed to bring with him the 10.000 humans to Omega Centauri...

...not knowing that there was one more.

...

"Precisely because you have me as your friend now, do you seriously want to risk your life for this...?" you asked almost whispering.

"...you see me as your friend?" he replied with a surprised tone of voice.

You looked up and noticed a pleasantly surprised gaze in his eyes.

"Yeah...? Is...is there a problem about it?" you questioned, suddenly afraid of him possibly despising this whole idea of being your friend.

But he simply shyly smiled.

"No, not at all" he mumbled, still smiling.

...

"Touch her again and you're done"

**Copyrighted** *Sequel to I Am Who* *Book 3* "I told you not to protect me! I told you not to get hurt!" I exploded, whirling to face him. "You should have listened to me. You promi-" My word cut off as he fairly launched himself out of his seat, closing the distance between us in two, large steps. His hands cupped my cheeks, and his lips captured mine. There was a roughness in the action, and I stood for a brief moment in shock at what was happening. The need in his touch, however, elicited an instinctive response within me. I kissed him back, my hands forming fists at my sides wary of his many injuries. Tears welled beneath my lids at the pain he was undergoing for me. Again. And then His hands slid down my sides, pushing my arms up to rest on his shoulders as he closed the remaining space between us. All thoughts except him fled from my mind, and I clutched at him with all the varied emotions swirling through me as a guide. For some reason neither of us could explain, we'd held ourselves back for all this time. There had always been something getting in the way, and besides that, both of us had been so emotionally broken, we'd almost been too scared to reach out and take hold of one another for fear the dream we were experiencing would dissipate if we tried. The separation had pushed us further apart, too, and I had thought...well, I had foolishly thought I was smart and that I knew so much about what he was feeling, but that wasn't the case at all, because here he was: holding me as if I was the only thing keeping him alive. Whatever came, I wanted to be with him. I was done letting go and running away.

Computer updates are simple, right? Apparently, that's not always the case when it involves a Spaceship's AI in the middle of deep space. We have always relied upon technology to travel through space, but sometimes that very same technology has a mind of its own... (This story has a happy ending) -------- Sneak Peek: A flashing orange light in the top corner of my handheld device prompted me to check the system status page. My jaw dropped. All sorts of systems were going offline. Water, sewage, air, heating, cooling, weapons, and many more. What was going on? The Overseer was more decisive than I was. "Go help get the air systems back online. We can eat dry rations for two weeks, but we can't hold our breath for that long." I took off running once more. I hadn't gone far when I almost ran right into Logan. I asked, "What going on?" He grabbed my shoulders urgently. "The main computer's AI is taking over the entire ship. I need to get to a backup mainframe to try and reverse the upgrade, but I can't find the room! The AI messed up the electronic maps, and I have never been to this one before! Where is the Delta access room?!" My mind tried to wrap itself around the details as I gave directions, "...then turn left and it's by the plumbing room on that level." "Thanks!" He took off running. ------- Please note there is no romance in this story. :) A huge thank you to @JimenaVivancoo for making the cover! Copyright April 2018. All Rights Reserved.
